CBS 46 in Atlanta is reporting that Falcons defensive back Jimmy Williams was cited on June 2 on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge. But the TV station reports that "Williams disputed the report and said he is totally innocent." Per the report, Williams was scheduled to make a court appearance last week, and his case has been continued to Dec. 3.
The station reports that Williams' agent, Ethan Lock, said he was aware of the citation, and that Falcons General Manager Rich McCay and coach Bobby Petrino have a copy of the police report and are discussing the matter.
Williams was the Falcons' second-round pick in 2006. He played 13 games last year, starting five. Like that other Falcon who has been in legal trouble recently, Williams is a product of Virginia Tech.
