Atlanta Falcons quarterback Vick gives US$10000 for victim families
CBC News, Canada - 7 hours ago
ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has teamed up with the United Way to donate US$10,000 to assist families affected by the massacre at Virginia Tech, his former school.

"When tragic things like this happen, families have enough to deal with, and if I can help in some small way, that's the least I can do," said Vick, who played for the Hokies before being drafted No. 1 overall by the Falcons in 2001.

The Vick Foundation is collecting donations from local communities in both Atlanta and Virginia that will be placed in the United In Caring Fund for Victims of the VA Tech Tragedy and the special fund at the United Way of Montgomery, Radford and Floyd counties, which serves the Virginia Tech area.

You know, it's funny looking back at this from a month or so ago and trying to look at this Michael Vick compared with the guy up on dogfighting charges and all the other things he's done. Complex individual, that Michael Vick, but obviously there is some good and some bad both at play here within the man.

Did't donate a dog or two along the way???...

I think players seldom get as much credit for the good as they do for the bad...which is a shame. Nice to see Vick care.

not so fast my friends ...... please allow me to be the voice of reason

as Vick has not be proven to be involved in the dog fighting ...... i submit he also isnt proven to have done this either

i always hear about players "handlers" ....... and i would think many of them have people to do such good deeds for them

it is possible Vick set this up himself ....... but still not confirmed

people keep harping he is innocent until proven guilty with the dogs, well i say he isnt responsible for this until proven otherwise

damn i must like being unpopular in certain circles
