| Continuing their search to find a veteran quarterback to compete for the backup job to starter Michael Vick, the Atlanta Falcons met with former Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins quarterback Joey Harrington Friday, according to his agent, Joby Branion. Harrington is the second quarterback to visit with the Falcons this week. Jay Fiedler, a former starter with the Dolphins, was the other. Atlanta has spoken with the agents for quarterbacks Anthony Wright and Tim Rattay over the past few weeks, but there have been no developments. Contract talks had not been broached with Harrington, according to Branion. Harrington also did not have to go through a workout, Branion said. | Re: Falcons to sign Joey Harrington Good pick up IMHO if the coachng staff installs an offense that is not centered on the running of Vick. Mora's offense was geared for Vick and as a result if he went down they had Shaub trying to run an offense that didn't fit. The problem with Vick is he can't run the typical drop back NFL offense. He is a bit short and tends to make slow reads and then trys to gun every pass. I still think Vick will be out of the league (new no nonsense policy of the NFL) or on another team within 3 years. |
