That's true, Vick was 10th in the NFL with 20 touchdown passes this season. But that stat places him 4 TDs behind Eli Manning, 3 behind Rex Grossman, 1 behind Jon Kitna and just 1 ahead of J.P. Losman and Tony Romo in that category. On the whole, I'd say that kind of company is fitting for the overrated Falcons quarterback.

He finished with 117 passing yards, 64 rushing yards, and a touchdown. He drove that team 90 yards to score before halftime, turned broken plays into positive plays, and made the Packers defense look silly. When he moved out of the pocket, the Packers had no way of defending him and he easily broke containment several times. Heck, I remember when the Falcons handed off to Warrick Dunn and Vick faked a bootleg and the linebackers bolted after him, leaving Dunn a huge run up the middle.

I don't care what the numbers say. He showed guts that day and was impressive.

Yep, I agree. Sorry, simon, but I've gotta give credit where credit is due.

Vick has more bad days than good days, IMO, but that definitely was one of his good days. On that day, he was a leader.

David Garrard was in the perfect situation. Defenses weren't prepared for him because there was not a lot of film available on him. Ergo, he was able to take advantage of his opportunity because he gave defenses a different look. Once defensive coordinators got film on him this season, he looked noticeably different. He is a great backup as I said, but I don't think he can be a franchise quarterback.

I thought David Carr had the talent to be a very good quarterback coming into the NFL. However, while he may somewhat salvage his career, I doubt he ever becomes what he was supposed to. Again, I doubt he ever eclipses Vick.

I don't doubt that Alex Smith will improve again under the guidance of quarterback guru Norv Turner, but I don't know if it'll be enough to catapult him in front of Vick.

Chad Pennington does have good intangibles, but I'd still rather have Vick over him. Pennington isn't better than Vick by leaps and bounds as a passer, and doesn't add the extra dimension that Vick does to an offense. He is one of the best breakaway runners in the NFL.

The more troubling issue of Jake Delhomme's decline was his ineptitude when Steve Smith was out. He looked lost, almost like a baby when their security blanket is taken away from them. I still like Delhomme and his gamer attitude, but I can't put him over Vick.

Matt Schaub has done reasonably well as a backup playing against second stringers with a modified playbook. I question whether he has a better grasp because, frankly, coaches don't show much in preseason. I would be very weary of Schaub. His career path is strikingly similar to A.J. Feely. Supposedly, the fans in that section said he was flipping off a Saints fan that was shouting racial epithets to a teammate and him.

Seneca Wallace isn't in the same category in terms of arm strength, mobility, and playmaking ability. I would say Vick has the edge in decision making and touch as well.

That is my point exactly. As I said later, you can't judge play solely on stats, especially in Michael Vick's case.

However, I still disagree with you calling him overrated. The only reason he is overrated in many people's eyes is because everyone thought he was going to be this amazing quarterback that revolutionized the position. People jumped on the bandwagon impetuously, people jumped off the bandwagon impetuosly. But, he is still a top ten quarterback in the league today.

Vick is one of the best athletes the NFL has ever seen...........along the same lines as Bo Jackson

he is miles ahead of Kordell Stewart

i think he has 2 big problems

1] he is like a fast break player in basketball when the rest of the team is stuck in the mud...........ya know his team cant keep up with him

2] no one (coach) has spent enough time working with him on the passing game......i think Vick is way under coached

Guess the man is jsut ahead of his time...the guy turns in a 1,000 yard rushing season...averages 8 yards a carry...throws another 19 TDs and all we can do it hate him...When we look at the QB position 25 years down the road and see that a QB has to run to play in the NFL, we will look at Mr. Vick in a different light...and hey, I am a Manning fan...but I got to give the man props on a unique season.

well, it seems this past season LT rushed for 1815 yards....had 508 receiving yards.....scored 31 TD's....and threw for 20 yards and 2 TD's going 2/3 passing with a 125.00 QB rating

guess he would make a better QB for you then Vick

...but I got to give the man props on a unique season.
