| Falcons Brass Upset With Vick ATLANTA (AP) - For the third time in nine months, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Falcons owner Arthur Blank, general manager Rich McKay and new coach Bobby Petrino met with Vick, who left team headquarters without speaking to reporters. McKay described Blank as being "upset" with the quarterback, whose $137 million contract was richest in the NFL when Vick signed it three years ago. "We are an organization that prides itself on not having off-the-field issues," McKay said. "I think we have done a pretty good job of bringing the right people in here so we don't have to face these types of issues. We don't like it. We don't accept it. It is not what we want." Last April, Vick settled a lawsuit filed by a woman who claimed the player knowingly gave her herpes. In November, Vick made an obscene gesture toward Atlanta fans who heckled the team as it came off the field after a 31-13 loss to New Orleans. Vick apologized profusely, paid a $10,000 team fine and donated another $10,000 to charity. FOX Sports - NFL - Falcons brass on Vick: 'We don't like it'

| Herpes? I don't think you can cut a guy for that. The bigger issue is his marijuana detainment. But I agree with you, Yellowhammer. I wouldn't want him to QB my team. Atlanta must kick themselves when they think they took him before Tomlinson. |

| Re: Falcons Brass Upset With Vick Why is it fishy?...he doesn't need the bad press, he manages very well in that respect...the man cut his losses and paid up...not defended the actions, just saying he probably took the best possible out... |

| Re: Falcons Brass Upset With Vick Apparently, ESPN's Chris Mortensen if reporting that the substance was NOT pot. If this is true, I guess maybe a lot of us jumped the gun. But then, if it wasn't pot, why didn't he want to give up the bottle? And what exactly WAS the substance?

Up until this point, what has Peyton Manning won? Carson Palmer? Drew Brees? That argument is flawed. |

| Re: Falcons Brass Upset With Vick Any one that has won a playoff game is better than Vick ... Vick is suppose to be one of the best qb's in the league. He has been on the team for a while now. True that just because he hasn't won a playoff game doesn't make him less of a qb. ... that part of my argument was flawed .. but there are still many qb's I would rather have than him on my team. I would take .. not in any particular order ... McNabb, Manning, Brady, Brees, McNair, Farve, Palmer, Rothlesburger, Vince YOung, Hasselback, Rivers ... These guys might not have had better numbers .. but I would rather have them as my qb. |

Manning - Yes. Brady - Yes. McNair - No. McNair in his prime was better than Vick has been in his prime, but he isn't better right now. I would label McNair as a glorified game manager at this point in his career. Favre - No. Favre was overrated in his prime to begin with and now he is vastly overrated. He is so inconsistent and makes a lot of questionable decisions. I wouldn't call his mechanics sloppy per se, but they are regressing with age. Palmer - Yes. Roethlisberger - Maybe. Roethlisberger has been overrated since the Steelers went 15-1. Give him a good ground game with a smashmouth defense and he looks All-Pro. But, his career shows that he is less effective when he has to throw more. It'll be interesting to see him next season. Young - No. Young is becoming mega-overrated. He won games with solely his legs this year. The guy has positively marginal throwing abilities. We saw the same exact thing from Michael Vick. He tore defenses up with his legs, everyone hopped on the bandwagon. He was forced to pass, everyone hopped off the bandwagon. Hasselback - Yes. Rivers - Maybe. I am hesitant to annoit Rivers to anything because, frankly, he has the best running back in football, the best tight end in football, and one of the best defenses in football. |

Vick's signing bonus is gigantic. Trading him would effectively destroy the Falcons' salary cap. |
