Report: Falcons not necessarily married to Vick

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports the Atlanta Falcons have told candidates for the Falcons head coaching job they are not necessarily married to Vick and the new head coach will determine if Vick is the Falcons quarterback for the long term.

Vick embarrassed the Falcon organization in November when he made an obscene gesture to fans after a 31-13 loss to the Saints. He apologized afterward, explaining his actions were out of frustration.

Vick was thought to be an untouchable in the Falcon’s organization so the aforementioned comments come as somewhat of a surprise. Vick has been the face of the franchise since being drafted as the number one overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

Wrong! I have watched about every game Vick has played. I am a lifelong Falcon fan, I should say a suffering Falcon fan. Vick has not had what he has needed to show his skills. He has no OL, we suck! Joe Gibbs will die believing in zone blocking and that kills Vick's performance. Under Reeves he was throwing for over 2,000 in his first 2 years until the injury. He took us up to the "frozen tundra" and beat up on the unbeatable Packers. No recievers, Mckay has used 2 first picks on recievers-no one drafts recievers in the front round! Certainly not twice and then trade a pick for Lelie! No, trust me as a Bama girl, Vick is good!
Petrino is a real bad hire! We needed a man with experience here and Blank went for another hot shot!
