Jim Mora, the coach of the Falcons, stated he didnt even care if they were in a play-off race.....if he was offered the Washington University job he would take it

then today he tried to say he was only joking.........then after that he said he just let his guard down which sounds like he wasnt just joking

I only heard the radio bit of him trying to say he was joking. It's not a joke when only two people are in on it on broadcast radio.

If I'm the Falcons owner, I fire him right now. I don't care if he says he was joking or if the team is a playoff hunt...your head coach says on the radio if he was offered the Washington job he'd leave...you can't condone that.

I don't have a problem with him saying that he would leave if he was offered the job. What I have a problem with is him not caring if they make the playoffs. The way coaches are only given a few years to win while owners are undercutting them by not giving them the manpower to win. They let it be known halfway through the season that the coach will not be hired back. Why should anybody care if a coach does the same thing and say he would take a job, in what I believe is his hometown, if it was offered to him.

Ditto...I'd can him too, unless he is trying to divert pressure and attention away from the team, and let the owners and the players know ahead of time...but I doubt it.
