| Re: Mora's dad attacks Vick Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick is ticked, and who can blame him?
Jim Mora, the father of Falcons coach Jim Mora — they are not senior and junior, by the way — ripped Vick on a Fox Sports Radio interview recently.
Papa agreed when host Craig Shemon called Vick a "coach killer." The elder Mora was the head coach at New Orleans and Indianapolis before becoming a member of the media.
"I think you're correct, and it worries me a little bit because my son is the head coach down there, you know?" Mora said.
Mora explained that Vick's "not a passer" and wasn't "getting it done in that category."
After his father's comments created a controversy in Atlanta, Jim Mora the coach said, "He regrets saying it." Then he praised the heck out of his quarterback.
After a 5-2 start, the Falcons are 5-5 with a three-game losing streak. Naturally, Vick wasn't happy about the comment.
"Honestly, I really don't know what to say," Vick said. "I can't even respond to that. He's a commentator. I think it was inappropriate, but he's a commentator, and he has every right to say what he wants to say. I'm just going to keep playing football. At the same time, it's crazy. "Yeah, he (Mora the coach) came to me and talked to me about it, but when I've got to answer every phone call — I got 50 people calling my number, asking me did I hear that comment — it starts to burn on you a little bit. "I'm speechless. I never thought he would say that, but that must be the way he feels. If he feels that way, so be it. It is what it is. I'm going to keep doing what I do." Lets just hate the guy why don't we...As if ripping your QB is going to yield that winning feeling...same planet different worlds... |
