Re: Better Off Without Vick

What do you guys think about Jim Mora Sr.'s comments earlier this week?

For those who missed it, the ex-Saints and Colts coach said that he couldn't win with a guy that couldn't throw at QB and that Vick was "a coachkiller"?

I think a "good coach" would find a way to win with the talent he has been given. A bad one would take the talent he has and try to turn it into something its not.

Worse, if you and your QB are not on the same page...good luck...its not going to work out.

Couldn't agree more with that statement. These guys coming in and trying to implement "their system" just drives me crazy. You're there to win games, not style points. If the power sweep fits your personnel and gives you the best chance to win, then run the power sweep. If it's the run and shoot, execute the run and shoot. I know we've been on opposing sides of most of this debate, but this is one thing I definitely agree with you on.

ummmm......the losing ?

just a thought, how about winning ?

today he went 9/24 which is 37.5% passing for 84 yards and 0 TDs

yeah, the rushed for 281 yards as a team, but you can see where that gets them........another loss

seems it has been a proven fact......300 yards and 50% passing with just over 100 yards rushing wins games

not 280 yards rushing and 84 yards passing

swap Brees with Vick and i bet the score is much closer

Are you blind my good man????...cause I saw the game, and I saw the drops the recievers kept making off his passes...I heard the announcers basically say, hey this kid creates the opportunities out there but at 6'0" he is not meant to be a drop back passer...

And many a team have won a championship with that kind of rushing to passing ratio...Heck in the Dolphins once threw all of 7 passes in one championship game...what did the Dolphins do that year?...hmmm...17-0 with two back over 1,000 yards...Pittsburghs first two Super Bowls where won with a Strong D and a ground game...Bradshaw was an often inconsistent passer who got bench for of all people Joe Gilliam...

It ain't the ratio...the man needs teamates...It was not Vick who got them down 14-0...its not Vick who like Roddy White drops wide open 40 yard passes...its not Vick who was frustrated as his tight end that the Saints took out of the game...

Are you sure you where watching the same game I was?...just checking...

Re: Better Off Without Vick

The Falcons would be stupid to cut Vick. Some team would be glad to have Vick.

Re: Better Off Without Vick

There was talk that Atlanta was gonna run a few plays on Saturday with Schaub at QB and Vick at tailback. Didn't get to see the game, though... did it ever happen, and if so, how did it work out?

Better question is why the heck would you do that to your starting QB who threw for 4 TDs?

he should have been fired the day he made the comments

there must be plenty of coaches that would jump at the chance to be there

the owner said it was a boneheaded move.......would you want a bonehead leading your team ?

please come discuss it with us here Jim Mora Is A Moron

and GDK, yeah Vick had a decent day.........but they still lost

Because of the injuries at the tailback position. Apparently they felt that Schaub at QB and Vick at RB would work better than Vick at QB and whoever the 4th string tailback who was forced into reserve duty would have been.
