| Falcons sign Morten Andersen Yes, THAT Morten Andersen - the 46-year-old placekicker who is the NFL's #2 all-time leading scorer. The dude hasn't played since 2004, and will become the second oldest player in NFL history. Punter Michael Koenen had been handling kicking duties, but is just 2 for 8 on field goal attempts this season. Andersen may be older than dirt, but he's got to be able to do better than that, right?

| Re: Falcons sign Morten Andersen Morten Anderson will do the job fine. Kickers don't get tackled that often and have an easy career as long as they kick the balls far enough. My friend who plays soccer was an extremely accurate field goal kicker and also a reliable reciever. That figures why he was always drafted first on the playground. |

| Re: Falcons sign Morten Andersen No, this isn't a rerun - the Falcons have signed Andersen, again, to kick in 2007. According to the Associated Press, "For the second year in a row, the Falcons sent out a belated call to Andersen to rescue their sorry kicking game. He was more than happy to help out, because this puts the 47-year-old freak of nature another season closer to his ultimate goal: playing until he's 50 and passing George Blanda as the oldest player in NFL history... He's already the leading scorer in NFL history, an ambition fulfilled last season after he was called in by the Falcons to replace Michael Koenen, who missed six of eight field goal attempts in the first two games." So can the old man resurrect the Atlanta kicking game? Again? Just for kicks: Morten Andersen returns, armed with plenty of old-man jokes - NFL - Yahoo! Sports |
