| Is Michael Vick driving or stalling? A statistical analysis of Falcons quarterback Michael Vick suggests that he's on the cusp - on his way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame or about to flame out. If you believe the numbers and analysis, he needs improved mechanics, decision making and attention to detail to develop into the next Steve Young. If he doesn't, he might slip off into the abyss much like Kordell Stewart, Charlie Batch and Dave Brown. In Schatz's analysis of post-1977 quarterbacks, Vick's 2005 season, his fifth in the NFL, was most comparable to Young's first season as a starter in Tampa Bay, 1986, after two years in the USFL. Both were 25. Vick completed 55.3 percent of his passes, Young 53.7 percent. Vick had 15 touchdown passes to go with 13 interceptions. Young had eight and 13. Vick outrushed Young, 597 yards to 425.
