Just making public the past hour from Boston Radio and ESPN's Buster Olney. The Boston RedSox would send Coco Crisp, Craig Hansen and another prospect or two to Atlanta for Andruw Jones.

MLBTradeRumors says Atlanta also requested John Lester be involved but that remains to be seen.

If you're Atlanta, I would think seriously about do this deal. Craig Hansen is going to be a star pitcher for the pen but it comes down to whether or not you want to give up Jones.

Andruw Jones to the Red Sox? Where did this come from? I could only find 1 other mention of this so it's caught alot of people by surprise.

Who comes out ahead in this trade if it happens?

OK, got a report on this that it's bogus and will not happen.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says that Boston is not involved in any blockbuster trades as previously reported on ESPN through Buster Olney.

It appears as though this proposal was dead before it took off. Didn't make too much sense for Boston anyway.

Yes, the Sox called the Braves yesterday inquiring about what it would take to get outfielder Andruw Jones. Yes, they were told that it would cost them Jon Lester, Craig Hansen and Coco Crisp. The Sox said thank you very much, and that was it. No counterproposals, no further conversation.

I'm glad the Braves didn't do it. With Chipper out, Andrew will step up like he did last year and carry the Braves toward the wild card on his shoulders. The AJC said that apparently Lester was the deal breaker. Here is a something a guy said, but unsubstantiated: The Sox were going to take Andrew and package him in a deal to Houston for Roy Oswalt--what do you think?

Hmm, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that it was Boston who contracted Atlanta, asking about Andruw Jones. According to a report in today's edition of the paper, "[Braves GM John] Schuerholz did listen to the Boston Red Sox before the trading deadline... when they asked about Jones. He did listen to whoever else called after the waiver period. His actions and his words scream that he doesn't view Jones as indispensable, or anything close." Are the Braves starting to sour on Andruw for some reason?
