Atlanta wins 6th straight, tie 1930 Yankees

The Atlanta Braves yesterday became the first team to score 10 or more runs in five straight games since the Yankees of Ruth and Gehrig did it back in 1930. Andruw Jones went 5-for-5 with two homers and six RBI in a a 14-5 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Braves have won six in a row and have outscored their opposition 77-32 in the process. Should the Mets be worries that the sub-.500 Braves might be fixin' to make a run at it?

Wow, Bobby Cox is amazing. The Braves simply wake up at some point and play ungodly baseball.

I don't think the Mets have to be worried about any team in the NL right now, as long as they don't go into a horrid slump. The Braves division winning streak is likely over, but they could still get in via the wildcard.

Nothing would be sweeter for a Mets fan than for the Mets to win the Division, Braves the Wildcard and end up beating the Braves in the NLCS.

Cool Re: Atlanta wins 6th straight, tie 1930 Yankees

Cox is a great manager. Too bad he's a bitter old crank.
