Javy Lopez is back with the Braves.

The Braves signed their popular former catcher to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training, where the 37-year-old will try to win a job backing up catcher Brian McCann.

Javy Lopez is back with the Braves.

This is great news, I like Javy, He will be a great backup to mccann..

He doesn't have a whole lot left in the tank, though. I'm not so sure he'll even make the MLB squad.

Lefty you have to be postive in the braves forum..

Your right though he doesnt have a whole lot left, and might not make the mlb team, but I hope he does..Having javy and glavine back..now we need maddux..

I liked Lopez when he was a Brave before. Not sure if he's still got some solid punch or not but we'll see.

I think he'll be fine as a backup..though I dont he'll be able to throw anyone out..he still has pop in his bat..

I remember buying his rookie cards as he was coming up through the Braves Org...I am getting old...

He is only there for the fans. I would rather see them give a rookie a chance at backup than fill the spot with a guy that is about used up.
