For less than $25,000, Atlanta Braves fans can sit 17 feet closer to home plate than the pitcher in his windup. The Braves broke ground on a luxury ``Dugout Club'' at Turner Field that features a 4,000-square-foot lounge, flat- panel television monitors and seats 43 feet behind the plate, the shortest distance in Major League Baseball. The upgrade is part of efforts by the Braves to improve attendance, which is rebounding after a seven-year slump. It might also increase revenue, helping the team compete with the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, who finished ahead of the Braves in the standings and in payroll spending.
