The deal is not official yet, but MLB.com is reporting it will be "Teixeira and left-handed reliever Ron Mahay to Atlanta in exchange for catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, shortstop prospect Elvis Andrus and two players to be named later... One of those two players could be left-handed pitcher Matt Harrison, who came to Atlanta on Monday to have his sore left shoulder evaluated by Braves doctors. The Rangers will be able to choose two prospects, and it's believed they'll both be pitchers."

I guess whether or not Harrison's the other depends on the outcome of this physical.

This is a risky move by Atlanta.... According to Baseball America, Saltalamacchia and Andrus are the Brave's top two prospects. Atlanta is definitely giving up a lot for a guy who's only hit 13 homers this year.

Teixeira will hit his home runs but I think the risky part is the fact the guy may leave once he hits free-agency after next season.

can I get a hell yeaa, I hated to see salty go but we already have a great catcher in mccann, we gave up a few good prospects but tex is worth it,this makes our lineup very scary, schuerholz is da man..

man it looks like it, unless he gives us a hometown discount, hes one of the best outfielders in baseball so im sure his agent will get him mad money, thats why im glad this tex deal came through..
