The Atlanta Braves are now just 1.5 games out of first place in the NL East after yesterday's 9-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Brian McCann hit two homers and Tim Hudson tossed seven shutout innings to earn the win, while the Mets fell 8-4 to Cincinnati. Atlanta has won 10 of their last 14.

Hudson is finally pitching like he did in Oakland. They are going to need him to keep it going if they want to beat the Mets.

Swept the Pirates after a great outing by Buddy Carlyle today. Although it was just the Pirates, it looks promising for the Braves to stay in the thick of it right now. Lots of baseball left, but I am cautiously optimistic...

Yep, the Braves have been looking good. You guys may catch the Mets sooner rather than later.

Yep, and that's the best part. The Braves had been lacking offense during their mini-slump, so it's encouraging to see him hitting well.....
