John Smoltz picked up his 200th win defeating the Mets and former teamate Tom Glavine.Smoltz, who has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings since dislocating his right thumb on May 14, began the special evening with two of his five strikeouts in the first inning. Two of the seven hits that he scattered were a pair of infield singles that helped the Mets load the bases in the third inning. He escaped that jam with a strikeout of David Wright. The Braves, who are now just 1 1/2 games behind the Mets in the National League East race, have taken all three series and six of the first nine games they've played against the Mets this season. Three of those wins have come in the games that have pitted Glavine against Smoltz, who became the first pitcher with 200 career wins and 150 saves.
