Braves P Tim Hudson

Atlanta Braves P Tim Hudson looks like his old self so far this season. He is 3-0 so far in 2007, and according to the Associated Press, Hudson "has allowed two runs in 29 innings this season for a microscopic 0.62 ERA." He's also struck out 19 and has a 0.93 WHIP through four starts, and opponents are hitting just .165 against him. So is it too early to declare Hudson as a possible Comeback Player of the Year or Cy Young candidate?

He didn't stink so much last season, to consider him a Comeback of the Year winner.

Also, Rich Hill of the Cubs is doing well simultaneously.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I was under the impression he had a losing record, but I see now that he was 13-12 with a 4.86 ERA. Not great but probably not bad enough to be a CotY player candidate.

Impressive...the rule of thumb is to take the 1st three starts of the season to examine how a player will do...sounds like Hudson is going to at least have a strong first half...

Tom Glavine was a better investment in the long-term.

I always felt that Hudson had the best stuff of those three in Oakland. When he was on, he rarely gave the opposition anything to hit above the knees.

Re: Braves P Tim Hudson

Huddie was in a funk last year, when asked what has made the biggest difference in his success so far this year he said in the off season he got back to his old work outs and cut out some bad habits. Hes pitching like he did in oakland and I wouldnt count him out of the cy young award race..

I think the Braves pitching was hurt by Leo going to Miami. I about fainted when I found out he had gone.

I will say I miss seeing him in the dugout rocking back and forth but Mcdowell has done a great job so far..
