Re: Braves: Players left in Camp

Nope, checked it out - it's his son, Tony Pena Jr.

This is a 2005 story from the Braves website at MLB.com.

Quote:
When Tony Pena Jr. was given his first opportunity to play with big leaguers, he was a Spring Training extra for a Braves team that was playing the Astros in Kissimmee, Fla.

Royals manager Tony Pena Sr., who was an Astros coach at the time, was brimming with pride when he saw his son with the likes of Chipper Jones and Gary Sheffield on that afternoon in March 2003.

If the elder Pena's Royals still trained in Florida, the proud father would have had even more opportunities to see his son play in 2005, when the youngster attempts to prove he's ready to be in the Majors like his father was for so many years.

Known more for his solid glove, the younger Pena has been displaying a hot bat in the Arizona Fall League. Through Wednesday, the 23-year-old middle infielder was hitting .344 (21-for-61) with three doubles and a triple.

"[Tony] has a lot of natural ability," Braves director of player personnel Dayton Moore said. "He's represented our organization very well, just like all the guys we have out there [in Arizona]."

You the man Lefty!...though it would help if they stuck a little "Jr" by the name of the article I saw...Kid seems to be able to hit, and come from good stock...we will have to watch him
