On ESPN Radio, Jerry Crasnick said the Atlanta Braves are about to pull of a small blockbuster with the San Diego Padres for ace Jake Peavy. The Braves would send 2B Marcus Giles, RHP Horacio Ramirez and C Jarrod Saltalamacchia to San Diego for Peavy.

Well now it appears this tidbit is false. MetsBlog talked with Jerry Crasnick today who said he never appeared on ESPN Radio today.

So, it is false.

Braves are getting the best of the deal...didn't the padres trade Barfield there secondbaseman?...would make sense to get Giles...but they should get better for Peavy.

The Barves need a good starter ( or two) to go along with Smoltz and Hudson... This'll be a good deal for Atlanta if it works out.
