Should Braves Trade Marcus Giles? That's the question asked by the Braves' blog, Talking Chop. TC cites Giles' declining numbers over the past four years as well as his unwillingness to bat lead-off as reasons why Atlanta should look to TRADE Giles this winter. Giles is a good player and likely could be a fine member of a team elsewhere so if they can get something decent for him, I'd probably trade him too. What do you guys think of Marcus Giles? And should Atlanta try and trade him this off-season?

Re: Should Braves Trade Marcus Giles? Considering Marcus Giles is still one the top 2Bs in the league, I would try to acquire Alfonso Soriano from the Nationals since it has become obvious that he wants out of Washington.

Re: Should Braves Trade Marcus Giles? We need a leadoff guy. Giles was great as a number 2 hitter for about three years, then moved to leadoff and just doesn't seem like a leadoff hitter. What we need is a LF that can leadoff. That's what I want to see.

Re: Should Braves Trade Marcus Giles? How many LFs do you know that can full the lead-off spot in a batting line-up? Other than Lew Ford of the Minnesota Twins, I can't think of anyone else. Juan Pierre will be a free-agent at the end of the season so anything is possible.
