Botkin to leave ULM football staff for Arkansas
ULM is losing another football assistant to the Southeastern Conference.

ULM assistant Kirk Botkin is returning to his alma mater to join new Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino's staff.

"Coach Petrino was looking for an ex-player who coaches linebackers and special teams, and recruits Texas," said Botkin, an Arkansas tight end from 1990-93. "I heard about that and called him."

Botkin just completed his second season on the ULM football staff. He coached linebackers and served as the Warhawks special teams coordinator while recruiting East Texas.
