In a recent column, Tom Dienhart of the Sporting News discusses Houston Nutt's future.
"I spoke with someone close to Arkansas coach Houston Nutt on Tuesday," says Dienhart. "Here's the deal: He won't quit. Nutt has too much pride and fight. And he has done another masterful job of coaching, despite the efforts of a small but well organized group trying to oust him... Nutt also knows that if he quits, he'll walk away from about $3 million in annuities, etc. He would like to stay, and a two-year extension could be in the offing under new A.D. Jeff Long... If Nutt does get fired, he wouldn't be interested in the Baylor job. Word is, he could land a job better suited for quick success."
