Arizona Coaching Vacancy

A lot of big names have been dropped in the search for Arizona's next head basketball coach. We have heard names like Rick Pitino, Tom Izzo, Jamie Dixon, Reggie Theus, Bruce Pearl, Lon Kruger, Jeff Capel, and Mark Few. The one name that seems to be gaining momentum in among all my sources is Mark Few of Gonzaga. There are now rumors coming out of Spokane that Mark Few will be the next Arizona coach. Keep posted though, these rumors have been popping for the last few weeks and there have been a lot of names thrown out there, we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Arizona Coaching Vacancy

We are hearing tonight that the new coach will be Tim Floyd. Tim Floyd has coached at USC and Iowa State as well as in the NBA with the Bulls and Hornets. He may not be quite the marquee name we were expecting, but it could turn out to be a good hire. We'll have to wait and see.

Re: Arizona Coaching Vacancy

Tim Floyd backed out and at this time there is no clear cut frontrunner for the Arizona job. Locals here in Tucson are starting to lose their patience with Arizona AD Jim Livengood......who has had all season to conduct a search for a new coach. We now see Kentucky has already hired Arizona's top choice in John Calipari, Virginia has hired Tony Bennett from Washington State, Georgia has hired Mark Fox from Nevada.....and Arizona still has noone!

Re: Arizona Coaching Vacancy

Arizona AD Jim Livengood has left Tucson in order to continue his search for the next Arizona head basketball coach. There are just far too many distractions surrounding the program here in Tucson, so he went to Albuquerque where the local media glare is not as bright.

The latest rumor has Xavier's Sean Miller flying to New Mexico to meet with Livengood today. The Arizona faithful all have our fingers crossed.
