| Three recruits back out after Olson retires Three recruits who had committed to the University of Arizona have decided to re-open the recruiting process thanks to the resignation of Lute Olson last week. Abdul Gaddy, Solomon Hill and Mike Moser have all told Arizona media sources that they will look elsewhere now that Olson has retired. He left the program unexpectedly last Thursday. The Wildcats now have no players committed for the November signing period. Gaddy was the second-ranked point guard (and No. 14th overall) in the ESPNU 100. Moser, a 6-8 forward, is ranked 18th at his position. Hill is the No. 21 forward. "We just kind of sat back and watched it," his father, Abdul Gaddy Sr., told the Arizona Daily Star. "It seemed like they didn't know what direction they were going to be going in. There was nothing concrete there." Gaddy is now considering UCLA and Washington. Hill, from Los Angeles, is considering hometown USC, among other schools. Moser, from Portland, Ore., joined Hill in decommitting last week. Arizona could also lose juniors Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill to the NBA draft after this season. ESPN - Abdul Gaddy, Solomon Hill, Mike Moser back out of Arizona Wildcats commitments

I don't keep up with the recruits as far as stats. I usually look at the program, notability, coach.... make my determination that way. I'm usually not far off. |

| Re: Three recruits back out after Olson retires I had already mentioned the loss of our recruits a few days ago on another thread in this forum. Gaddy will end up at UCLA, the other two will need to explore their options, not sure if UCLA has room for all 3 of them. |

| Re: Three recruits back out after Olson retires PG Abdul Gaddy was considered either #1 or #2 PG in the nation, depending on what source you list. Tho other two were also were also highly regarded, both listed among the top 100 players in the nation. Throw in the loss of consensus #1 PG Brandon Jennings who was supposed to be a Freshman this year but opted out after last year's debacle with Kevin O'Neil taking over when Lute stepped down for personal reasons, and you can see Arizona has suffered some devastating losses in recruiting. Lute's departure came so late that the school had no opportunity to find a new head coach, and as it stands now we have nobody capable of pulling in big name recruits. #1 target to replace Lute next season is Mark Few of Gonzaga. |

| Re: Three recruits back out after Olson retires Apparently Arizona still has a shot at keeping Mike Moser, a top 75 recruit. He loves Arizona and has stated he won't commit until after the season so he can see who will replace Lute as the next head coach for the Wildcats. |

| Re: Three recruits back out after Olson retires Frehman C Jeff Withey has announced that he is transferring having never played a single game for the Wildcats. This now brings the total of high profile recruits lost in the last 3 months up to 5. The way we're going we won't have enough players to field a team before long. PG Brandon Jennings was the first loss, now playing in Europe with the intention of trying out for the NBA next year. |
