Re: Arizona at Washington

Arizona really needed the week off to get over injuries. The last game at Oregon State, Arizona was down to their 3rd RB, the top 2 WRs were out, already lost pre season all-american TE Rob Gronkowski for the year, were down to a 3rd string DE. The list goes on...but the week off last week will give a lot of people a chance to heal and get ready to take on the Huskies. The biggest improvement in the last game came from the decision to start QB Nick Foles instead of Matt Scott. Foles is a better fit for the system Arizona runs and makes the offense much more potent....defense is already pretty good. This should be a really good game...Arizona favored by 2 1/2 points sort of surprised me but I can definitely see it happening.

Re: Arizona at Washington

This should really be a good game desertrat and going to try to listen to this game here up in Colorado via internet radio out of Washington which usually ignores copyright crap on internet radio.

I remember before the season started you liked Foles way better than Matt Scott at QB. I believe you are right! Hey, before the season started I way underestimated the Wildcats because I thought their offense would be so bad. Turns out their offense can move the ball and their defense has been really good. I was pleasantly surprised in their victory a couple weeks ago on the road at Corvallis, OR where I have been many times to watch football games. Huge win for the Wildcats and have a lot more respect for them.

I always liked Mike Stoops but cannot stand his brother at Oklahoma...LOL

Hey, I think this game is huge for both schools and Huskies have played very well at home this season. They had a very very tough loss at Notre Dame last week I thought they should have won. See how they bounce back against the Wildcats?

Re: Arizona at Washington

Washington, Arizona again play pivotal Pac-10 game

More miles separate Washington and Arizona — roughly 1,200 — than any other Pac-10 schools. But whenever the Huskies hit a turning point in their program they seem to run into the Wildcats, as they do again tonight when Arizona comes to town for a 7:15 p.m. game.

In 1992, it was Arizona that snapped UW's 21-game winning streak, the beginning of the end of the Don James era. In 1998, it was Arizona winning a miraculous game on Ortege Jenkins' "Leap by the Lake" that helped doom Jim Lambright. In 2000, in the first game after the injury to Curtis Williams, it was Arizona that was the opponent, a game that proved to the Huskies it was all right to still play football and led the way to a Rose Bowl berth.

Losses to Arizona in 2003 in Tucson and 2007 in Seattle were pivotal in derailing those seasons and, ultimately, the tenures of Keith Gilbertson and Tyrone Willingham.

Hey, huge game for both schools to this point in the PAC 10 race. I think the loser will be looking at best the Holiday bowl but winner still has a decent shot at the PAC 10 title if they keep winning. This is a very tough call for me here and know our friend Desertrat will be pulling for the Wildcats. Fact of the matter is the game is being played at cold Husky Stadium where I have watched a few games in life and feel like the Huskies will have the advantage here.

I am going with the Huskies here but AZ Wildcats definetely have a shot here! Anybody think the Wildcats can beat the Wildcats here?

I have also been to a few games at Husky Stadium, I lived in the Seattle area from early 1994 to late 1998...almost 5 years. I went from there to Salem, Oregon where I lived until 2003 and went to games in Corvallis as well as Eugene. I have been to 9 Pac 10 stadiums in all, and 5 Big 12 stadiums as well as several bowl games. I like most of the teams in the Pac 10...but my lifelong favorite team is Nebraska.(Lived in Nebraska as a kid until age 12 before moving to Long Beach, Ca where I went to High School) I just happen to be working on my degree at Arizona, one class at a time around work.

Hey desertrat, this is awesome. It is nice to have somebody that posts from the PAC 10 consistently over here. Trying to see if I can bring in more PAC 10 fans.

You know it is funny, I have never been to a bowl game but actually had two tickets to the 1993 Rose Bowl between Oregon vs Penn St. I was so sad that I could not get off work and didn't have the extra $500.00 back at that time for airfare/lodging. Went through a bad divorce that year which broke me. I was a season ticket holder to Oregon Duck football from 1985-2001. I was DAF member for 10 of those years.

I find it very interesting that you lived in Seattle which gave you easy access to Husky Stadium which needs a facelift badly everybody tells me. I still think Husky stadium is in one of the most beautiful settings in college football.

Now you are in AZ getting your degree which is awesome. I have been in Colorado now for almost 7 years but sure miss the Pacific NW where most of my family is.

Nebraska Cornhuskers are my surprise team this year in the Big 12. I mean I think everybody thought they would be better this season but they are even better than I first thought. I would say at the halfway point now that I don't see anybody in the Big 12 North beating them. I will give them a shot against anybody they play in the Big 12 Championship game. Safe to say that the Cornhuskers are back?
