Young Elway commits to Arizona State

Cherry Creek High School senior quarterback Jack Elway has verbally committed to play football at Arizona State, according to Creek coach Greg Critchett.
Critchett said he had not personally talked to Elway about it, but had heard about it from an assistant coach.
"I heard that he told (ASU recruiting coordinator) Matt Lubick he was giving him a verbal," Critchett said.
Elway is the son of Broncos Hall of Fame quarterback John Elway. Jack has thrown for 1,677 yards and 21 touchdowns this season for the Bruins (6-2).
"Jack's been an extremely solid quarterback," Critchett said. "In my time here, he's adjusted well to what we've done and made good decisions. He's impressed me." Jack Elway had considered LSU, Oregon and CSU, among a few others, before choosing ASU

How high of a recruit is he. I haven't heard about the rankings for college recruits yet. Is he projected to go to the NFL, or is it news because of who his father is.

Wow, he doesn't seem to highly rated to be news of committing early. He must have gotten his QB talent from his mom.
