The Arizona Diamondbacks begin a very important three game series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. The D-Backs have won two in a row and 6 of their last 10, but have seen the Padres win six in a row to trim the D-Backs NL West lead to just one game. The Dodgers have been ice cold lately, having lost four straight. This is a prime opportunity for Arizona to extend their lead on San Diego. Think they can get the job done?

I will be at saturday night's game featuring Brandon Webb-David Wells pitching matchup. Even though Arizona has the best record in the NL currently, they only have a halfgame lead over San Diego in the west and no playoff spot clinched as of yet. The Dodger series could go a long way towards clinching a playoff spot.
