| Re: Arizona Pulling Away in West? Funny how things can change in just a few days, ain't it? Now, yesterday's win over the Rockies helped the Diamondbacks remain tied with the Padres atop the NL West. Those two teams meet starting on Monday in what should be an absolutely phenomenal series.

| Re: Arizona Pulling Away in West? The DBacks have a lot of pieces for a foundation, they just need to become more consistent. The blown game the other night when Livan Hernandez left the game with a 3-0 lead after 7 innings really hurt. At 3-2 with 2 outs in the 9th, Chris Young made an uncharacteristic play for him where he didn't seem to have his mind in the game for a second. He failed to catch a pop fly in shallow CF and that allowed the tying run to score. They then lost in extra innings. Huge series starting monday with the Pads here in Arizona, what a great time of year this is! Baseball races and the beginning of football, it doesn't get any better than this!

| Re: Arizona Pulling Away in West? Big win for the Diamondbacks yesterday, as they beat San Diego 9-1. According to the Associated Press, "The Arizona Diamondbacks roughed up Chris Young again as the NL West race tightened... Extending their mastery of San Diego's All-Star, Tony Clark and Eric Byrnes homered and the Diamondbacks defeated San Diego 9-1 on Tuesday night to pull within .001 of the division-leading Padres." Can they win tonight's game to take over the NL West lead? MLB - San Diego Padres/Arizona Diamondbacks Recap Tuesday September 4, 2007 - Yahoo! Sports |
