Wow, talk about a shocker - the Arizona Diamondbacks have claimed RP Byun-Hyung Kim off waivers from Florida and IF Jeff Cirillo from the Minnesota Twins. Kim had just struck out a career-high 10 batters on Wednesday, and Cirillo was hitting .261 with a pair of homers and 21 RBI in 153 at-bats. Anyone else absolutely stunned that the Diamondbacks did this?

I'm even more surprised that Florida let him go. He wasn't pitching that bad. He averages almost a strike out an inning and K'd 10 in his last outing.

Cirillo? Probably just an insurance policy. He can play all the infield positions.

Thankfully, they did cut him. He is horrible and cost the DBacks 2 games in his 1 week with the team. Yusmeiro Petit was called back from Tucson which makes all of us DBacks fans a lot happier. Kim was booed when he walked out to pitch his first game in Phoenix last week, then failed to make it out the 1st inning at Florida in his 2nd start. Arizona fans still remember how he almost blew the World Series with his 2 blown saves in 2001 against the Yankees. Amazing they still managed to win that series.
