Diamondbacks vs. Padres

The Arizona Diamondback and the San Diego Padres opened a three-game set yesterday, with the Brandon Webb and the D-Backs taking Game 1, 4-0. According to the Associated Press, "Webb held the Padres in check while Chris Young and Stephen Drew hit two-run homers for the Arizona Diamondbacks... The Diamondbacks moved atop the division by one game over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Padres dropped to 1 1/2 games back."

Re: Diamondbacks vs. Padres

DBacks take game 2 by a 9-5 score in 11 innings. Earlier in the game CF Chris Young of Arizona robbed the Padres of a grand slam that would have given the Padres a 5-2 lead at the time. Nest inning DBacks put up 3 runs and led 5-1. That lead hel up until the bottom of the 9th when the Padres rallied to tie it at 5-5 and force extra innings. DBacks have now won 10 of their last 11 games.

Re: Diamondbacks vs. Padres

10 of their last 11. Man, when did the D-Backs get so hot? Wonder if the Dodgers and Padres can keep from falling too far back.
