Diamondbacks vs Devil Rays

Get this - the Arizona Diamondbacks have NEVER beaten the Tampa Bay Devil Rays!

With yesterday's 10-2 loss, the D-Backs are now 0-7 against the D-Rays, if you can believe that. According to Kyle Odegard of the East Valley Tribune, "The D-Backs became the fastest expansion team to win the World Series when they did it in their fourth year of existence in 2001. Tampa Bay, on the other hand, has been the American League East’s whipping boy since it entered the league, finishing in last place in eight of its nine seasons... But when these two teams get together, it’s the same result every time." So when in the world will Arizona be able to finally beat this bunch of American League also-rans?

Re: Diamondbacks vs Devil Rays

No sooner than I post this then the D-Backs actually win back-to-back games over Tampa Bay, including a 10-8, 10-inning decision on Wednesday for their first ever win in this series. According to the AP, "With late homers by Tony Clark and Chris Young, the Arizona Diamondbacks matched the greatest comeback in team history and finally solved the Tampa Bay Devil Rays... One inning after Clark tied the game with a two-run pinch hit homer in the ninth, Young hit a game-ending, two-run homer to defeat the Devil Rays 10-8 Tuesday night... The Diamondbacks rallied from a six-run deficit for their first win in eight games against their 1998 expansion partners. Arizona trailed 7-1 in the fourth and 8-2 in the sixth."
