| Leinart's first game Matt Leinart got in a good drive before settling into a lack luster perfromance in his first game. Still the one drive was impressive for a guy who has missed so much camp holding out. Anyone think the Cards will give him the ball if they get off to a bad start? | Re: Leinart's first game According to that there article up at post #2, "Leinart, who finally signed a six-year contract earlier this week, didn't start, but came on to complete 4-of-11 passes for 45 yards. He also ran four times for a team-leading 29 yards. Arizona starter Kurt Warner finished 6-of-9 for 58 yards with an interception." I think its safe to say that Warner, if healthy, has nothing to worry about just yet from Leinart. But then, Matt DOES just have a few days of practice under his belt, so maybe we should wait and see how he performs in the next game and the one after that, eh?

| Re: Leinart's first game No sense destroying the kid's future just to get him in this year. Play Warner now, strengthen that o-line in the offseason and then put Leinart in for the 2007 season. That's the smart way to play it. And whatever else happens, Denny Green cannot cave to the pressure of the fans and/or ownership, should they want to force Matt into the lineup much like Ralph Wilson did with Rob Johnson a few years ago. |
