Kurt Warner shines

Matt who? Kurt Warner had a strong showing today against the defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. The Arizona Cardinals QB completed 9 of 13 pass attempts for 118 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half. Looks like Leinart will have his work cut out for him, if and when he signs. Think its pretty much Warner's job to lose this year?

You have to give the former MVP the role until he loses it...Leinart is digging himself a hole...he should be signed and learning...I am disappointed with the rookie.

Re: Kurt Warner shines

I haven't been following the Leinart situation but anytime a QB is staying out of camp, it's never ever good.

But with Warner, you know what you're getting. How did Arizona's O-Line do? I assume well since he was able to complete 9 passes.

Doesn't Warner have a quick release?...that has to help the O-line...

Re: Kurt Warner shines

I am not sure how well the offensive line played, but I do know that the Cardinals need Matt Leinart. Backup QB, John Navarre, threw horribly for two interceptions and no touchdowns.

Navarre is not going to cut it, and Leinart is the long term answer...but right now, people are starting to believe in Warner...He is climbing the charts on the QB list.

Re: Kurt Warner shines

I know the problem with Warner in the past was he held on to the ball way too long and took unnecessary sacks.

I thought it was a thumb/wrist injury of sort?...did he take a beating as a Giant?

With the Giants, he did tend to hold onto the ball too long. The OLine gave him time to throw but he seemed a bit skiddish. Granted, he has a tremendous arm and an accurate one. As long as the Cardinals OLine can protect him, he should do well.
