Re: Super Bowl:Cardinals-Steelers!

If Kurt come back next year I would say they will have a better record than 9-7 ...

I think Boldin would need to come back too for that to happen.

Hmmm not so sure about that . Yes he a good player but If the Gaints don't keep Plaxico Burress which I doubt they will . He Plaxico Burress has played with Ken Whisenhunt and could fit there nicely . Yes ?

I paid plenty of attention.

Sometimes you need to step back and be objective.

They got hot at the right time, but they surely weren't the best team all season in the NFC.

Express your opinion all you want, but don't quote me if you want to say someone wasn't paying attenition.

9-7 is 9-7, and that wasn't the best team. In fact, it ranked 6 if I remember right.

They deserved to be there on the grounds that they won the games when it mattered most, but don't preach to me the best team always wins.

Take last year for expample.

I don't think anyone here can argue that the anyone was in the same league as the Pats. BUT, they had a bad day and went down.

If you played last years Super Bowl 10 more times, the Giants MIGHT have won one of those ten.

Clearly the best team doesn't always win, nor does it get to the big game every time.

Take off your homer glasses and examine the facts again.

Your right but after seeing them play i'm pretty sure that gave them alot of confidence which now they have something to build on and prove . Its going to be interesting to see what take places with this team next year . I hope Kurt doesn't call it quite but it look like he will and its to bad if he does ...

Hey, I hope the Cards kick ass next year, I was cool with seeing them in the Super Bowl. The made it one to remember, even with a slow start.

I enjoyed watching em play, and I truly hope Warner comes back for another shot at it.

Re: Super Bowl:Cardinals-Steelers!

This team could be a real threat if they were to get a Plaxico Burress and keep Kurt for another year . You can almost be certain that Plaxico Burress will not get jail time and play for the Gaints . So where does that leave him ? Maybe where the coach knows him already , like a Ken Whisenhunt team ? I know its all hear say but it is a thought .

You failed to mention that they clinched their division about 2 weeks before any other team clinched a playoff spot. Their final stretch of games were all against playoff teams that were fighting to get in...all but the Patriots did get in...and the Cardinals rested a lot of their regulars to prepare for the playoffs. I would guess that if their playoff hopes had not already been locked down, they may have played the starters more.

Fact is, the Steelers were darn lucky to win this game...and everyone who saw it knows it!

Not that I'm defendin Phils, but weren't the Cards in position to clinch the division before the time they actually did, they just couldn't do it because they kept losin. It was a big deal on ESPN because all they had to do was win one more game and they clinched. I think it went 2 or 3 weeks before the actually clinching of the division.

That bein said, I think the Cards should have won the whole shabang, but there were a couple of plays that kept them from doin it.

Bingo, and they won a lousy division with a very blah recornd.

Look, I like the Cards. I rooted for the Cards, but lets be real about it.

They lost 4 out of the last 6, and by scores of 48-20, 47-7, and 35-14, and all against teams that made the playoffs. In other words, the good teams.

The last three wins in the reg season were the Seahawks, twice, and the Rams.

I hate that you have put me in a spot to have to be honest about a team that I like, but facts are facts.

Arizona Cardinals Schedule - NFL Football - ESPN

The weren't the 85 bears, 93 Cowboys, or the Pats team that won 3 of 4.

They won a bad division, then got hot and made the Super Bowl.

I Hope they come back stronger than ever, and would love to see em come back and do it again, but lets not make em something they aren't

Re: Super Bowl:Cardinals-Steelers!

Actually, they lost every time they played a playoff team in the regular season.

Again, I rooted for the guys, but the facts are facts.

The were like some of the hockey teams that get a hot goalie, and overachieve.

Let's see what they do next season. I hope they are legit, they are a great story, and I'm a big fan of Kurt Warner, but let's just wait and see, before we do any annoying! That is the facts from someone who DID pay atention to the season.

I disagree with the lucky part ... Its obvious you have no idea as to how Pittsburgh plays there style of games . Were they ever behind in this game ? Just the last 3 minuts of the game and what did they do ? Came back and took the lead back . So you don't know what your talking about ...

Totally wrong ... You don't close down their offense through most of the game and call it lucky . Also Steelers lead for 56 minuts of the game, when they were down it was only for a few minuts and came back to take the game away from them . That is not lucky , not in the biggest game . That just show you they had the confidence to get the job done . In fact I see it the other way around , the Cardinals were lucky the Steelers didn't put more points ....

Steelers couldn't put more points up, the Cards defense was holdin them back. How many goal line stands did the Cards put up against the Steelers to hold them to a field goal? The Steelers got lucky.
