Re: Cards will open at home for first time

It's been two decades in the making, but the Cards finally have a home game to open the season. I'm sure that retractable-roof, climate controlled stadium will be a big draw during the September heat in the Phoenix / Glendale area. I'm thinking maybe they're will be record attendance just so people can get out of the heat for 3 or 4 hours!

Oh, and the team should be competitive too this year. That's a plus.

Cool Re: Cards will open at home for first time

I always wondered why the Cards couldn't start at home. They could have just play at night. I really hope they do well. This actually was once a pretty good franchise when they were in St. Louis. They had some classic players. Jim Hart, Terry Matcalf, Dan Dierdorf, Roy Green. The last really name player they had was Neil Lomax. And who could forget Air Coryell as coach.

Re: Cards will open at home for first time

Cards also will play on monday night for the first time since 1999. So for anyone that lives out east, this may be the best chance you get to see what the new stadium is like. I believe the monday night game is in mid October, roof should be open for that one.

Yeah, I heard about that. It's definitely good exposure for the team, and I'm looking forward to catching a glimpse of the new venue. Hopefully for the Cards and their fans, they will put on a good show so that this won't be the last primetime game for them for another 7 seasons.
