Well, until they signed Edgerrin James, I always figured that the Cardinals were going to go with a RB, likely LenDale White or DeAngelo Williams. But they don't need to anymore. So who DO they pick now? There are lots of needs to fill. Maybe Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland? Perhaps Winston Justice, OT, USC? Or do they go defense with either Jimmy Williams, CB/S, Virginia Tech or Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State? Any of them seem like legitimate possibilities. What do you guys think?

They probably should go defense, only because there's so much talent already on the offensive side of the ball. Ofcourse they could use an OL but could get that later in the draft. Ofcourse if Vernon Davis is still on the board, it would be tough to pass him up.

Nonetheless, they need a guy in the secondary to be a ballhawk. They have some nice young LBs. They could also use some help up front. I'd look at DE, DT and DB with their first pick.

That's one of the reasons Williams is a possibility. Value wise, though, I think either Davis or Justice would be the better pick. Both are impressive, and I think either one could be more of an immediate contributor than any of the defensive guys they could get at this spot. So despite the obvious need, I for one just don't see them doing D with this pick.

Cards possible have the worst OL in the NFL. They definitely will need some immediate help on the line or their season will end quickly with Kurt Warner in traction at the local hospital and Edge running for his life to the sidelines.

Scott Hurrey, the author of this article - http://www.thehogs.net/content/story.php?id=678 - agrees with you, desertrat. He calls O-line the team's top priority on draft day, saying "No matter how many playmakers this team has at the wide receiver position, without good protection they are useless. Not too many quarterbacks throw touchdowns from the seat of their pants."

Too bad Winston Justice's stock's gone up so much, and they probably won't be able to get him at #10 anymore. I doubt either he or Ferguson drop that far, which will put the Cardinals in an awful tough spot. What do they do with the pick then?
