Leinart named starter

ESPN is reporting that Matt Leinart will start at QB for the Cardinals this weekend.

So, what do you think? Good idea going with the rookie over Kurt Warner, who had an awful game on Sunday?

3 interceptions and you are done...a bit quick there I would say. I think its all jsut pressure to play the rookie...who of course missed a good portion of training camp.

Re: Leinart named starter

Yeah they should have made him the starter from the get go. Give him till the end of the season before you even start to judge him. Even JP Losman is looking good now that he got the reps in. Time is important for rookies.

Re: Leinart named starter

Dennis Green is sticking with Warner this week. I don't think it would have been a good idea to start a rookie in his 1st game, on the road against Atlanta. If Warner has problems again this week, then I think we might see a change.

The Cardinals also had a taker on the naming rights of the new Stadium. They will now be playing at the University of Phoenix Field in Glendale.

I personally like the Pink Taco a lot better.

I rather it be the Pink Taco...I have a personal beef with UofP...and it seems no one can have a bad day as a QB, unless you are named Ben...

Re: Leinart will NOT start after all

Warner starts over Leinart after all. So did ESPN get this wrong, or did Denny have a change of heart?

Cool Re: Leinart named starter

Who knows? Maybe he was leaning towards Leinart and changed his mind. Personally this is the smart move. Atlanta is a tough place to start your career. At home next week vs. KC is probably a smarter spot to play Leinhart.

Re: Leinart named starter

Definitely.

KC will be weak without Trent Green. Does anyone know when Green is planned to return?

Re: Leinart named starter

So, I would guess the Chiefs lose their next 2 games or so.

With SF coming into Arrowhead, although the 49ers are improved, if the Chiefs don't win this game, they may not win a game all year.

Ooooh! I love seeing Herm Edwards fail! It's like a refreshing club soda with lime!

Re: Leinart named starter

Even though I am a Jets fan, I still think that Herman Edwards is a great coach.

Coughlin stinks more than a french racoon!

Coughlin sucks but he's way better than Herman Edwards. I mean Herman Edwards can't even read a digital clock!! Then he hires a "clock specialist" to make sure that the clock is managed correctly and he still screws it up! Herm Edwards has got to be the most overrated coach in the NFL.
