According to the Los Angeles Times, the Anaheim Ducks have given Scott Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne until the NHL Entry Draft to decide their futures. Anaheim General Manager Brian Burke (who himself could be leaving the organiation) said that the two players will not be allowed to rejoin the club halfway through the season, as they did this past year. So what will Niedermayer and Selanne wind up doing?

yeah I'm still in the crowd that says that was b******t, what they did last season. prima donnas. Acting like hockey royalty or something. Imagine how a player felt, mucking thorugh the early months of the season only to have Teemu decide to come in when it starts to get exiting. Whenever I've suggested this, there's always someone who says, Who wouldn't be happy to have these two play whenever they want? Never really smacked of teamsmanship, so i'm glad they've done this.
And yes, Burke should be on his way to Toronto as soon as Anaheim unlocks the chains and lets him out of their dungeon.

Yeah im glad there making deadline. Either get in or get out, stick by your team through the whole season, not just playoff time.

Too many players in other sports are doing this part-time BS. Definitely nice to see someone take a stand in hockey.

Apparently today will be spent rolling out the red carpet, shining his crown and having his royal gown dry cleaned.
