The Anaheim Ducks are 2007 Stanley Cup champions after victory over Ottawa.

According to the Associated Press, "The 14-year-old Ducks captured the NHL title with a 6-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night, ending the series in five games in front of the home folks again... For the first time, the Stanley Cup can enjoy an NHL western home, and the Ducks' victory came at the expense of Canada. The cherished trophy was born in Ottawa, but no team north of the border has won it since Montreal in 1993."

Scott Niedermayer took home the Conn Smythe trophy. So anyone surprised the Ducks were able to win it all this year?

i KNEW they would win, they just have the better players
good for scott neidermayer for winning the MVP, i havent seen him play much, but from what i heard, he deserved it
so overall, im ecstatic
another season hockey comes to a close, and this time, i can feel semi-happy
i didnt have to see the sens team lift the cup last night

Did you hear Mike and Mike on ESPN radio this morning? They congratulated the ducks and in the same sentence said NHL was irrelevent and nobody cares about the sport.

I know they have cut back on showing clips on sportcenter, but do they need to trash the sport while talking about a team winnng the title?

I must add to that - the cup hasn't been in Canada since 93 comment - at least there have been canadian finalist three years in a row.
And have you looked at the team list - you're talking canadian stock as the backbone to that team.

Pronger made that right choice, moving from Edmonton to the Ducks, eh? even though i hated him for it.
What a blowout for Ottawa. Emery gave up, the team followed suit, it was messy and I loved it.
Of course, part of me felt bad for the losers, even when it's Ottawa - but the joy on the faces of the Ducks - how great to watch Scott pass the cup to Rob, first thing. touched me.

They showed Neil, though, and I thought, Hm I'm okay with that one being upset. And then they showed redden, who has said some nasty things about Toronto and the leafs, and i thought, Hm I'm okay he's crushed too.
