Alabama commitments stay clear of Knoxville

TUSCALOOSA — Alabama coach Nick Saban has no problem with current Crimson Tide commitments visiting other campuses before National Signing Day on Feb. 4, as long as that other school is not Tennessee.
In the wake of former Alabama linebackers coach and touted recruiter Lance Thompson's abrupt departure last week for Tennessee, two blue-chip UA pledges from Thompson's former recruiting area have cooled noticeably on the Vols.
Pensacola's Trent Richardson, rated by many as the top running back in the nation, essentially dropped Tennessee from his list recently, according to those close to the prep standout. He is not expected to visit UT next weekend, as was originally planned before Thompson's exit for Rocky Top.

If the dude isnt visiting Tennessee, thats OK by me. Lane and company have apparently spooked some folks in the SEC. Nobody seems to want their recruits to sit and have a chat with Lane or his father. They seem to be very good at changing peoples minds about which university they need to be at. We havent played our first game under Kiffen yet, and everybody is just all up in the air over him coming near one of their prospective recruits. Do I sense fear in the air? Heck, they dont even want the Kiffens near their loyal employees. THIS IS GREAT! VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: Alabama commitments stay clear of Knoxville

I wonder if little Nickie is worried that a better set of recruiters has shown up in the SEC. You never heard any of this kind of thinking coming from Nickie when we still had Phil in town. I will give the Tides coach credit, he is a master at recruiting, but I do believe him and Urban the Gator have finally got some competition when it comes to recruiting in the SEC. Oh, I cant wait for the season to get started and see how things go this year. I am a realist, I know we are probably a couple years away from really putting the Vols back in the drivers seat of the SEC East, but the early moves that Lane is making is causing lots of Vol faithful to have hope once again. This isnt going to be a Philip Fulmer team, and everybody in the SEC is starting to take notice.VOLS RULE!!!!! Have a wonderful offseason Tide fans, looking forward to seeing you again this year.
