Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

Something is rotten in Denmark about this schedual. Saban cut a deal with the NCAA and ESPN to lose last year. I will abstain rooting for the 2009 season.

I for one have seen a lot tougher season line up. Should be another undefeated regular season next year. I see no one on here that can beat the Tide if they are as good next year as they were this year. I know they could have a bad day and fall to a rebuilding Tenn or Auburn or SC, but they will have to be having a bad day for it to happen.VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

I don't like this schedule at all. I think we could have done better..... A tough schedule brings more respect than easy wins. (well, you never know about that, but they seem easier than they could be!)

With strength of schedule being figured into the rankings by the BCS, you are better off with a tougher schedule, if you can beat the tougher opponents that is.

People are saying we will struggle because of a rookie QB, but he is an esp. good one. I think he'll be more poised than they expect. The Bama fans feel good about him, and he has gotten in a little warrior time this season. If the other SEC teams improve from the way they played THIS year, our strength of schedule will improve anyway. I hope they all get better, your Vols, too!

Well, we have twice the Kiffen now than we had before Sun. I still say we will be a couple years with the new system on both sides of the ball, we should have some bad news bears type stuff going on for a while I would think. And as far as a rookie QB for yall next year, Satan will have him ready Im sure, and what he doesnt learn in practice the SEC will teach him in games. Really what I worry about the Vols and the SEC for next year is this, TEBOW and Fla will be back next year, Fla isnt losing much from this years team. They will probably be a monster again next year. I dont know if I hate them or if Im just jealous. VOLS RULE!!!!!

Our rookie QB played HS ball at the same place Chase Daniel did, but one year later. He broke all of Daniel's records! I just found that out yesterday, and it made me feel pretty good. Yeah, I know what you mean about Tebow. He will be a senior, though. That's one good thing. We came so close to stopping him this season. We will do better I hope, next year. He CAN be beaten, but he is so physically and mentally TOUGH. You saw that Ole Miss managed to do it. Yeah, I think Harvin is a huge threat, too. Florida will be very, very tough. Did you see that our player, Andre Smith has been suspended for the Bowl? he is a first team All-American. We could ill afford to lose him.....

I never expected Smith or anyone on Bamas squad to get in Satans doghouse this late in the year. But youth so ofton overrides common sense, I am sure he will work his way back into the good graces of Nickie before next year, but you really dont want to lose anyone off your starting team right before a bowl game. What did he do? It was a team rule he broke, nothing legal I dont think.

There was the possibility of it being disastrous. It had to do with talking to an agent or something, or an agent talking to a member of his family. He is unlikely to have done anything wrong, but we were on probation in the past for a player talking to an agent who approached him on the street in the French Qtr. when we were there playing Miami for the NC in 1993. That made everyone take note of agents and the danger of even glancing their way.

And with all the past accusations, it will surely bring the wrath of Nick Satan upon the guilty party, if there is a guilty party at all. But I am sure Nickie understands how witch hunts can take on a life of their own. VOLS RULE!!!!!

This is very true. I wish they wouldn't allow it. I have my own selfish reasons, though. I just want to keep the best players as long as we can. Oh, and Happy New Year, everybody!

I think you should have to finish what you start with a university, no matter which school we are talking about. When Tenn recruits someone all they have on their mind is reaching the next level. When they get to the college level and turn into a star, all they think about is the $$$$ avalible at the pro level. I cant say that I blame them, but when you agree to free 4 yr ride at a school, you should have to finish you commitment. Tn, and Bama and the rest of the schools across the country spend big bucks on their football programs and their recruiting programs, and they should get the full 4 years out of their investment. The kids are getting their education plus a platform(national TV, etc) to show their skill and in essance try out for the pros everytime our schools put them on the field. They are getting exposure with our schools they would otherwise never get. THE SCHOOLS SHOULD GET THEIR MONEYS WORTH ALSO. VOLS RULE!!!!!
