Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

yep. rolltide! we have an easier schedule, but maybe theyll start respectin us more like they do penn state, usc, and ohio state when they play NO ONE during the regular season haha. those kind of teams would not last one day in the SEC. they are a joke

Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

It may be the off season, but I just cant wait to have another go at you guys. Our new coach has been generating a lot of talk,(some good, some bad) and I hope he can stir up lots of talk for the Vols with some big wins. Looking forward to seeing if he can come away with wins against some of our more hated foes, namely the cursed Tide and those awful Gators. Looks as if Tennessee may be one of the tougher games facing Bama this year, not that I am implying that the rest of your schedule is pushovers or anything like that. Their are some quality bottom shelf teams there. VOLS RULE!!!!!

I think things are shaping up for some great games. You know we always have emotional and tough games with your Vols! I hope the new season will hurry and arrive so we can start watching our teams! Our A-Day game is the 18th of this month. next week! So I know we will learn something from that. Roll Tide!

Where is everybody? Good question. It gets very, very quiet around here when football season is over. Nobody seems to want to talk about the new season. That is too faraway right now, but time is passing and before you know it we will be glued to the telly and screaming. The Vols must be very excited with their first year with a new coach.... we will have a new QB this year, but he is doing pretty well in practice.

Our QB question is still a question in my mind. Lane says he is fine with what he has, but I still remember nearly kicking in the screen on my TV over a spiral to the cheerleaders.(just one of many I had to endure last year) I dont know how my TV survived last season. But, he is the coach and I am trusting him to make the right call. Get this, Jonathon Crompton is wowing the staff right now. That just scares the **** out of me. One big difference I know of in Vol practices this year, they are beating the crap out of each other right now, even the QB's are fair game in practice. Nick Stevens is just now coming back from a broken wrist courtesy of practice.VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

It gets very, very competitive in practice, They are all trying to show eachother up and win the starting job. We were expecting to see Star Jackson come on strong, but so far it has been Mac. Our spring game is Saturday on ESPN, so you can be sure I will be watching. I like to get a chance to see the newest talent.

I think ya'll will be every bit as good this year, if not better than last year. I will probably give ya'll a lot of crap over your schedule, but even if there are teams there you dont hear about very ofton, you still got to beat em. Have you noticed how the small schools are starting to be a thorn in the side of the big schools. I say its because of the high school programs across the country. They show up for their freshman year of college bigger, and better every year it seems. Lots of football talent being produced by the nations high schools. Enough for nearly every school, big or small, to find good talent.VOLS RULE!!!!!

We have got a good class of recruits so far for 2010. Also we have been looking all over the country, and not just in Alabama, even though we have found some really good ones here, too. There is more talent than ever out there. Yeah, the small schools are coming up and shocking the big ones. You have to be sure to NEVER take any school for granted no matter if you have ever heard of them or not. We sorta got caught flat against Utah. We weren't very interested in playing them and couldn't seem to get excited about it. The fans weren't excited and I know the team felt the same way. They came out on the field and I said...oh no. They look like I feel about this.... it was a disaster, as everyone knows. You have to keep up the intensity. Sometimes it's HARD to do, but a good team has to accomplish this. I know we have a "soft" schedule next year, but the year after will be GREAT. WE have Penn. St. and I am very excited about that!

The offense won the Orange and White game Sat. at Knox. All reports are that the offense looked better(but not great). They did add that the defense was playing soft, which goes against what Ive heard about practice. Crompton threw the only INT of the day, that guy still bothers me. I wont knock him yet this year, but it still worrys me.VOLS RULE!!!!!

I have worries too, about our QB situation. THAT is a really important position to be nervous about. It looks like Mac will be a passing QB, but he wasn't very accurate. I didn't like that. Neither of us had great games, did we?

People sometimes say the possition is overrated, but without a quality QB running the offense, you will pay the price before the year is out in the SEC. Lane felt good about the QB situation, so I will have to let it go and see how it plays out. But, to answer your question, no, we didnt have the kind of game I had hoped for, but its still early for Lane and Co., so we will have to be patient in Tennessee.VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

BJ Coleman just announced that he is leaving Tennessee. Man, they're droping like flies on Rocky Top. That makes 9 players from last years squad that have since left the program. We also lost another defensive player, cant remember his name, but Lane told him he didnt fit into the new scheme at Tennessee. Its going to be interesting to see the team Lane fields at the start of the new season.VOLS RULE!!!!!

Re: Alabama Football 2009 Schedule

This is sad in a way, because every player wants to contribute SOMEWHERE. I think they could be utilized in a different position, maybe, rather than having to quit the program altogether.
