TheAlabama football team had five players named to the 2008 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll, SEC Commissioner Mike Slive announced on Tuesday.
Rolando McClain, Josh Chapman, Nick Fanuzzi, Jennings Hester and Alfred McCullough were all selected to the team.

To garner SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll recognition, each student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00, be on scholarship or a letter winner, have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit and have been a member of the varsity team for the sport’s entire NCAA Championship segment.
