TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - John Parker Wilson Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - University of Alabama senior quarterback John Parker Wilson has been named to the preseason watch list for the 72nd Maxwell Award, the Maxwell Football Club President Ron Jaworski announced today.

The Maxwell Award has been presented to the outstanding collegiate football player in America since 1937 and is named in honor of Robert W. "Tiny" Maxwell. Wilson was one of 76 college football players named to the preseason watch list on Wednesday.

Character over overconfidence. Croyle just had a way of making you believe that the team was going to pull it out. JPW makes you believe he will pull out on the team when they need him the most.

Brodie is a fine QB and I am glad he is getting the chance to prove it with the Chiefs, but it is JPW's time to shine in Crimson and White. I wish him much luck and congratulations!
