Mossakowski names Alabama among top four
As anticipated, Ryan Mossakowski did indeed pare down his list of college destinations after visiting Auburn, Louisville and Kentucky over the weekend.
One of his four finalists is Alabama. The other three are Auburn, Kentucky and Texas A&M.

“Each of those schools has its own set of positives, and each has some negatives,” Mossakowski said Tuesday night. “But those are the four schools that fit me the best in regards to what I’m looking for.”
Mossakowski, a 6-foot-4, 201-pound quarterback out of Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas, selected those four schools over the likes of Nebraska, Kansas, Oregon, Clemson, Louisville, Colorado and Arizona, all of which offered him a scholarship. The quarterback’s aim now is to whittle his choices down even more with hopes of being in position to announce a commitment before the season begins in the fall, possibly as soon as within the next three weeks.

Irish making mid-summer push, but Bama still No. 1 for Robinson
Even after a hard sell by Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis and a possible scholarship offer coming, Gene Robinson still has Alabama as his top choice right now.

Robinson, a 5-foot-9, 201-pound safety out of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, attended a two-week long prep school at Notre Dame this summer and while there attended the Fighting Irish’s football camp. He returned a few days ago.

“I kind of came away with an offer, but it will probably come officially here within the next couple of weeks,” Robinson said late Sunday night. “I met with coach Weis right before I left, and he told me he was waiting to hear back from a couple of other defensive backs they offered, and if they don’t make an early decision they’re going to offer me. He said he would definitely love to see me playing at Notre Dame.”

As of right now, though, Alabama remains the leader for Robinson’s services. Crimson Tide assistant coach Kevin Steele visited Robinson in the spring, talked with his high school coach and made the offer to Robinson.

Weis has his work cut out for him. The perception of Alamaba is that of a program on the rise. The perception of Notre Dame is that it's a program on the decline. Only wins by the Irish this fall will change that. Until then, the Tide would have to have the clear recruiting edge.

Well it is nice to know Alabama is on the way back up in the national perspective.
