| Johnson predicts bright future for Tide under Saban TUSCALOOSA | Former University of Alabama defensive lineman Jarret Johnson is a member of an exclusive club he wishes he could get out of. As a freshman in 1999, he was a part of the team that claimed Alabama's last Southeastern Conference championship. It's been nine years since the Tide brought home its 21st piece of conference hardware, but Johnson thinks Alabama is close to competing for its 22nd. 'Let (Nick Saban's) second recruiting class get to be juniors and they're going to be studs,' Johnson said after playing in Saban's Nick's Kids charity golf tournament on Thursday at NorthRiver Yacht Club golf course. 'But you've got to give him that time. To play the defense that he runs you've got to have studs. 'The defense before was good, but they weren't built for the defense he runs. You give him time and they're going to be studs.' Saban's second class, the 2008 class, will be junior's in 2010. By Johnson's calculations, that is the year the Crimson Tide will return to national prominence. Full Story

| Re: Johnson predicts bright future for Tide under Saban You should see what Kevin Steels says the national prognisticator thinks with the right breaks that Alabama could go 13-0 and he thinks Auburn will be the biggest match. On the other hand depending on injuries he thinks Alabama will finish 3rd in the SEC West. Personally I think we win the West and the SEC Championship and go on to play for the BCS. I realize I am the opnly one here that thinks that way. That's okay as Alabama continues to win more of you will get on board. |
