| Nick Saban says hello from Destin... On the subject of Rolando McClain: Saban told Scarbo that he doesn't have a policy that prohibits his players from doing risky things like riding motorcycles. But he's considering it now. "When things like that happen," Saban said, "it makes you wonder if you should." At all his coaching jobs, Saban said he's never had such a policy. But he does take up the issue with his players. "You try to tell guys, 'Look, you got a career here,' " Saban said. " 'You need to be careful about that career. Make good choices and decisions and judgments about what you do and what you don't do. Obviously, jumping out of airplanes. riding motorcycles ...' " But Saban did take a look at the bright side for Baby Ro: "But the guy did have a helmet on,'' he said. "That probably helped him a lot.'' -- On the subject of the ongoing disciplinary issues of linebacker Prince Hall, who Saban had previously said could be suspended for the first few games if he returns: "He's got to keep doing what he's supposed to do," Saban said. -- On the subject of the incoming signees and how many will be eligible: First, Saban said he did not have final answers yet on every member of his signing class as far as who will be academically eligible. "We're still going through that process,'' he said. ``Plus, with one more (core) course (required), some guys won't know until July. Other guys maybe even August.'' Story
