Rudy Griffin and Rudy Ruettiger of Movie Rudy

I am proud to announce that tonight’s guest on our Talk of Champions show will be our very own Rudy Griffin and "Rudy" Ruettiger of the movie Rudy. As you know Rudy Griffin was a walk on at Alabama who gave up a full ride at the Citadel to walk on at Alabama and ended up earning a scholarship before his first real game. He was inspired by the movie Rudy in which Rudy Ruettiger walked on at Notre Dame and eventually was able to take the field and play in his last game. Join us tonight at 8 PM Central to talk to the two inspirational players about their journeys. Cell phones are usually free on nights and weekends so call in and join us on the show.

Well I didn't know the movie was based on a Alabama guy. So they Hollywood guys throw us Forest Gump and keep Rudy playing for Notre Dame. It figures.

Just to clarify: Ruettiger, the inspiration for the movie "Rudy," DID play for Notre Dame. Griffin, the Alabama player, was inspired BY the move. He wasn't the inspiration FOR the movie. And besides, Forrest Gump was a fine movie, if you ask me. And that's all I've got to say about that.

Personally I hated the way they tried to portray Bear Bryant as a racist in Forest Gump. Paul "Bear" Bryant may have been plenty of things but he was not racist.
